Matt is a 2017 graduate of the Michigan State University College of Music where he studied with Deborah Moriarty, receiving the bachelor of music degree in piano performance with high honor. He is a winner of the 2016 Michigan State University Honors Concerto Competition, and has appeared as concerto soloist with the MSU Symphony Orchestra as well as internationally as soloist and collaborative pianist in Poland and Italy. He also holds FAA commercial pilot and flight instructor certificates.

Matt has over 5 years of teaching experience with ages ranging from children to adults, and levels from beginner to advanced. His experiences as a flight instructor helping students to learn and achieve their goals in a context substantially different from piano instruction also informs his approach to teaching music.

A lover of all things Detroit, Matt teaches students throughout the Metro Detroit area, including Ferndale, Royal Oak, Franklin, Saint Clair Shores, Birmingham, and Bloomfield Hills.
